Juventus’ work on the transfer market never truly stops, especially when it comes to building for the future. After coming close but ultimately failing to sign Randal Kolo Muani in January, the Bianconeri are already planning a new approach for the summer.
Tuttosport report that the French striker is considered an ideal fit for the club’s attacking plans — a view reportedly shared by Luciano Spalletti — but the deal proved financially unfeasible during the recently closed window. Nonetheless, the winter negotiations helped rebuild Juventus’ relationship with Paris Saint-Germain, who even showed willingness to agree on a loan with an option to buy.
The obstacle came in the form of Tottenham, who still held an interest in the player, but their influence will fade in June when Kolo Muani returns permanently to PSG. This could open the door for Juventus to make a renewed attempt.
Mateta remains an alternative option
According to reports, Juventus are ready to take their time and prepare what would be a third attempt to sign Kolo Muani. The player himself is said to be keen on the move, reportedly open to a switch to Turin as early as January.
At the same time, the club continues to monitor alternative forwards, including Jean-Philippe Mateta. The Crystal Palace striker has faced fitness concerns due to a long-standing knee issue dating back to 2019 but is still viewed as a viable option should Juventus fail to land their top target.
Osimhen — the dream signing
Beyond Kolo Muani, there remains the ultimate ambition: Victor Osimhen. Juventus will face the Nigerian forward soon in their upcoming Champions League tie against Galatasaray — his current club, where he earns an impressive €16 million per season.
For Juventus, any attempt to sign Osimhen would require the player to take a significant pay cut, as the club’s salary cap now sits around €6 million per year — the level expected for upcoming renewals such as those of Jonathan David and Kenan Yildiz.
While such discussions are still a long way off, Juventus are already strategising for a future that could see a major revamp of their attack — one in which Dusan Vlahovic is increasingly expected to make way.
