Juventus are already looking beyond the current transfer window and planning a summer reshaped in Albiceleste tones, with Maximo Perrone and Marcos Senesi emerging as key targets for the next phase of the club’s project.
While the Bianconeri are still searching for a striker to bolster Luciano Spalletti’s options for the run-in, the hierarchy have deliberately avoided major moves this January in order to focus resources on more substantial signings in the summer. The idea is to reinforce the squad with profiles of personality and quality, and both Perrone and Senesi are seen as fitting that strategy perfectly.
Senesi, Priority for the Defence
Tuttosport (as quoted by TMW) report that the hottest track leads to Marcos Senesi, the Argentine centre-back currently at Bournemouth and out of contract in June. Juventus want to move early, with the aim of effectively reserving the player and avoiding a bidding war later in the year, as both Atletico Madrid and Barcelona are also monitoring his situation.
Juve are reported to have put a four-year deal worth around 3 million euros per season on the table, a proposal that reflects the intention to make Senesi an important part of the defensive rotation. Left-footed, experienced in both Serie A and the Premier League, and comfortable in a high defensive line, he is viewed as an ideal fit for Spalletti’s game model.
Perrone, the Regista Juventus Lack
In midfield, attention is focused on another Argentine international: Maximo Perrone. Currently shining at Como, the former Manchester City player has established himself as one of the best deep-lying playmakers in the league, impressing with his vision, passing range and ability to dictate the tempo.
Perrone is considered a profile that is missing from the current Juventus squad. His characteristics evoke those of Stanislav Lobotka, whom Spalletti maximised during his time at Napoli. The idea in Turin is to give the coach a similar type of player: someone capable of organising build-up play, playing between the lines and raising the technical level of the midfield. Unsurprisingly, Perrone’s performances have also attracted interest from other top Serie A clubs, including Napoli.
Kessié Still on the List
Alongside the Argentine pair, Juventus continue to keep an eye on Franck Kessié as a possible reinforcement for the middle of the pitch. The former Milan midfielder is admired for his physicality, work-rate and experience, and the club have reportedly sounded out a three-year contract worth around 5 million euros per season.
Kessié would offer a different profile to Perrone: less a pure regista, more a dynamic, box-to-box presence able to give balance, win duels and arrive in the box. In a revamped midfield, the combination of a creative organiser like Perrone and a powerful all-rounder like Kessié would provide Spalletti with a broader range of tactical solutions.
A Clear Strategic Direction
The emerging plan is clear: Juventus are willing to wait until summer to make targeted, high-impact signings rather than short-term fixes in January. By moving early on out-of-contract opportunities like Senesi and closely monitoring rising talents such as Perrone, the club aim to strengthen decisively while keeping an eye on budget sustainability.
If these moves are completed, the Juventus of next season could feature a strong Argentine flavour at its core, with Senesi anchoring the defence and Perrone orchestrating the midfield – a new Albiceleste spine for Spalletti’s evolving side.
