With the transfer window entering its final days, Juventus are intensifying negotiations as they look to add a new wide player. The Bianconeri remain strongly interested in Edon Zhegrova of Lille, but, according to reports IlBianconero, Arnau Martinez of Girona is once again under consideration as a more economical alternative.
Zhegrova Still the Main Target
Juventus’ preferred option continues to be Zhegrova, whose pace and creativity have made him one of the most sought-after wide men on the market. His contract situation with Lille has kept his price at around 20 million euros, a fee the Juventus board is carefully evaluating. However, competition remains high, with Marseille pushing hard to secure the Kosovo international, potentially mirroring Juventus’ strategy of selling first in order to finance the signing.
The domino effect could be triggered by the possible sale of Nicolò Savona. Nottingham Forest have already submitted an offer for the young full-back, and his departure could directly fund Juve’s move for Zhegrova. The outcome, though, is still in the balance.
Arnau Martinez, the Alternative
Amid the chess match for Zhegrova, Juventus are keeping other doors open — and Arnau Martinez is firmly among them. The Girona right-back, well-known to Juventus scouts after months of monitoring, is reportedly valued at around 12 million euros. Considered a highly promising defender with attacking qualities, Martinez represents a more affordable option compared to Zhegrova, particularly if the Savona deal stalls or other financial priorities come into play.
Juve at a Crossroads
Against Parma, coach Igor Tudor rotated both Kalulu and Joao Mario on the right flank, highlighting the need for greater certainty in the wide positions. With the clock ticking on the window, Juventus must decide whether to go all-in on Zhegrova despite the pressure from Marseille, or pivot towards Martinez as a cost-effective solution.
