Juventus Working on Yildiz Renewal: The Key Issue Isn’t Just Financial

Start

Kenan Yildiz has become the symbol of the new Juventus — a player around whom the club aims to build its next winning cycle. But keeping hold of their number 10 will require more than just a significant pay rise. The young Turkish star wants clear guarantees about the club’s future before committing his long-term future to Turin.

It’s now obvious: there is no Juventus without Kenan Yildiz. The talented forward is the team’s creative spark, capable of changing the course of a match in an instant. For a side determined to return to the top, losing him is simply not an option. Winning remains the shared ambition — for both Juventus and Yildiz.

Yildiz’s Request Before Signing

According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Yildiz plans to ask for specific assurances regarding the team’s sporting project before signing a new deal. His personal trophy cabinet currently includes just the Coppa Italia won in the 2023/24 season, under then-manager Massimiliano Allegri, when he was making his first steps with the senior team.

Having contributed key goals in that cup run, Yildiz is now hungry for more success. Before renewing, he wants to understand the direction of Juventus’ technical and sporting project — because his goal is to win major titles in black and white as soon as possible.

A Top-Level Salary

Naturally, the financial side of the negotiation also plays a central role. Yildiz’s current salary of €1.7 million per season makes him one of the lowest earners in the squad — a figure agreed upon during his last extension, up to 2028. However, that deal has now been outpaced by his rapid development and growing importance.

The 19-year-old feels it’s time his wages reflect his status within the team, reportedly seeking a pay rise to around €6 million per year — similar to what new signing Jonathan David earns. Juventus, for their part, are willing to go as high as €4–5 million including bonuses. The talks continue in a positive spirit, but an agreement has yet to be finalised.

Yildiz’s Impact

Few would dispute Yildiz’s transformation into a key figure this season. With six goals and six assists already across Serie A and the Champions League, he has been instrumental in Juventus’ resurgence. Even when not directly on the scoresheet, his creativity and intensity often ignite the team’s attacking play — as seen in the recent win over Roma, where he set up the opener and later struck the post.

Last season, Yildiz ended with twelve goals and nine assists in 52 appearances. At his current rate, he looks poised to comfortably surpass those numbers before the campaign ends.

Premier League Attention

Although Yildiz’s existing contract runs until 2028, Juventus are aware that growing Premier League interest could complicate matters. Chelsea and other English clubs are reportedly monitoring the situation closely, ready to move should negotiations stall. The Premier League’s financial power and competitive allure present a potential threat for the Bianconeri.

For Juventus, therefore, renewing Yildiz’s contract is more than a formality — it’s a strategic priority. Keeping hold of their brightest star means offering not only financial rewards but a convincing vision of success worthy of the club’s number 10 shirt.
