Kalulu

Manchester United Eye Kalulu as Juventus Move to Secure Contract Extension

Interest from England is building around Juventus defender Pierre Kalulu, with Manchester United reportedly among the clubs closely monitoring his situation. Tuttosport report that the Frenchman’s consistency this season has made him a key figure in Luciano Spalletti’s setup — and a growing target for Premier League scouts.

Kalulu has been one of Juventus’ most reliable performers, maintaining top form under both Igor Tudor and Spalletti. Remarkably, he has not missed a single minute of action this season, underlining his importance to the team’s defensive stability. Such performances have inevitably drawn attention from abroad, prompting Juventus to consider a new long-term contract to keep him in Turin.

According to reports, United will send two representatives to the San Siro on Saturday for the Inter-Juventus clash, where Kalulu is expected to start once again. Their aim is to watch him in person and assess whether he could fit into the Premier League’s demanding environment.

Juventus, however, have no intentions of letting one of their defensive cornerstones leave. The club signed Kalulu permanently from AC Milan last summer after his successful loan spell, and they now view him as a crucial part of their project moving forward.

To fend off English interest, Juventus are said to be planning a contract renewal until 2030, which would include a salary increase from his current €2.4 million to around €3.5 million per season. Initial talks between the club and the player’s entourage have reportedly already begun.

On a personal level, Kalulu is also working towards returning to the French national team. He has only received one call-up from Didier Deschamps so far — during last summer’s Nations League finals — but his current form could earn him another opportunity. The upcoming international friendlies in March might offer the defender the perfect stage to strengthen his case for a place in the World Cup squad.
