Manuel Locatelli is once again at the centre of international transfer speculation. Reports from England suggest that Manchester United are monitoring the Juventus midfielder closely as they look for a new anchor in midfield, with Casemiro expected to leave at the end of the season.
According to Touchline in the UK, the Red Devils have already made initial contact with Locatelli’s representatives to gauge the possibility of an approach in the summer window. The Italian’s name is not new to the Manchester club — they were also tracking him in 2021, particularly after his standout performances at the European Championship, which Italy went on to win.
That summer, however, Juventus won the race for his signature, signing him from Sassuolo on a two-year loan deal with a purchase obligation worth around €25 million plus €12.5 million in potential add-ons. The club’s confidence in him was reaffirmed in November 2023, when Locatelli signed a new contract keeping him in Turin until June 2028.
