Marco Ottolini Set to Become New Juventus Sporting Director

Start

Ilbianconero report that Marco Ottolini is set to step into the role of Juventus’ new sporting director following the official termination of his contract with Genoa. After months of speculation and management turbulence at Juventus, Ottolini’s arrival marks a significant shift within the club’s organizational structure.

Ottolini, who started his career as a scout with Anderlecht before joining Juventus in 2018, has extensive experience at the club. He initially specialized in monitoring loaned players and nurturing internal club relations. In 2021, he was promoted to Loan Player Director, a position he held until moving to Genoa in 2022, where he took on the more prominent responsibility of sporting director.

His return to Juventus comes at a critical moment. The club’s current General Director, Damien Comolli, is set to be promoted to CEO, necessitating the appointment of an accomplished operator to oversee the football department. Ottolini’s familiarity with Juventus, combined with his hands-on experience recruiting and managing talent at Genoa, positioned him as the leading candidate for the job.

Now, Ottolini is expected to work closely with Juventus legends such as Giorgio Chiellini and Technical Director François Modesto, helping to shape club strategy and spearhead recruitment efforts. As Juventus looks to regain stability and competitive vigor, Ottolini’s appointment represents both continuity and new energy for the Bianconeri.
