Former Juventus general director Luciano Moggi has voiced his concerns about the current state of the club under manager Thiago Motta. Following Juventus’ humiliating 4-0 home defeat to Atalanta in Serie A, Moggi shared his thoughts on the team’s difficulties and Motta’s leadership.
In an interview with TuttoJuve.com, a visibly disappointed Moggi commented on the situation: “What should we talk about? Let’s leave it alone. We can only hope they can get a result in Florence.” When asked how he would proceed, Moggi admitted, “I wouldn’t proceed because I don’t know the internal dynamics. When I hear the coach say that the dressing room needs to be reorganized, I would ask him who dismantled it in the first place. Just that.”
Moggi went on to discuss the timing of potential managerial changes: “Now is not the time to sack Motta, but he could have been removed after the Champions League disaster in Eindhoven. PSV conceded 7 goals at home against Arsenal, while we were eliminated. This shows the strength of Juventus.”
The former director also highlighted communication discrepancies within the team: “There are also discrepancies at the communication level: Locatelli declares that they got everything wrong, then the coach arrives and says he would do it all again. That’s where I would have sent him home to do whatever he wants.”
