Muharemović to Leeds Unlocks Pellegrino Deal — Juventus Close In on Argentine Striker with Deadline to Seal Agreement

A Blitz From Yorkshire Triggers a €20 Million Windfall, Parma Reject the Loan Structure, but Permanent Transfer Talks Are Racing Towards a Conclusion

“And yet it moves.” Galileo’s defiant whisper might not seem the obvious frame for a Juventus transfer update — but as Tuttosport’s Lorenzo Aprile suggests, it captures perfectly the mood at the Continassa this morning. Despite the rigid constraints of the UEFA Settlement Agreement and the diplomatic difficulties that have characterised the opening weeks of negotiations, the engine room of Juventus’s transfer market is finally turning — and the catalyst has come from an unexpected direction.

Muharemović to Leeds: A Blitz That Changes Everything

Tarik Muharemović will fly to Leeds within hours to undergo his medical and sign his contract with the newly promoted Premier League club. It is, as Tuttosport describes it, a blitz — swift, clean, and decisive. And its financial implications for Juventus are immediate and significant. Thanks to the 50% sell-on clause retained when Muharemović was originally sold to Sassuolo, the bianconeri will receive approximately €20 million from the transaction — despite never having been the selling club in the traditional sense. Carnevali’s long-term planning, in its most elegant form.

That windfall now unlocks the next move: Mateo Pellegrino from Parma.

Parma Reject the Loan — Permanent Transfer Is the Only Formula

Juventus’s original proposal to Parma — a paid loan of €5 million with a €20 million purchase obligation and up to €5 million in bonuses — was rejected. The Emilian club have made clear that the only formula they will accept is a clean, outright permanent transfer. They need liquidity to fund their own incoming business, and they are acutely aware that Premier League clubs are also circling Pellegrino and will not wait indefinitely.

The numbers being discussed are as follows. Parma want €30 million, with 7% of the gross fee then redirected to Vélez Sarsfield under the terms of the Argentine’s original sale. Juventus are willing to go to €28 million in total — but only with bonuses included, with the fixed cash component standing at €22 million. The gap is narrow. Both parties are confident a deal can be reached, with the target date set firmly within the next two weeks at the very latest. Juventus cannot wait longer — the squad departs for their Asian pre-season tour on 2 August and Spalletti needs his striker in place before then.

Personal Terms: Five Years at Just Over €2 Million

On the personal side, there is no complication whatsoever. A five-year contract worth just over €2 million per season awaits Pellegrino — a deal he has never shown any hesitation in accepting. Sporting director Marco Ottolini has been in daily contact with the player’s entourage for weeks, and the Argentine’s commitment to the idea of joining Juventus has been unwavering throughout.

The Wider Puzzle: Striker Urgency Over-Rides Everything

With Kolo Muani’s deal still deadlocked in the murky waters of the Torino-Paris negotiations, Juventus have made a pragmatic decision: they cannot go to Asia with an attacking department consisting only of David, Openda, and Milik — three players whose Juventus futures are all, in different ways, somewhere between uncertain and definitively over. Pellegrino gives Spalletti an immediate, enthusiastic, and physically ready option who can hit the ground running from the first day of the tour.

Arthur’s Exit Path Narrows to Two Options

A further development in the background: agent Federico Pastorello visited the Continassa on Tuesday evening specifically to discuss Arthur’s departure. The options for the Brazilian remain two: a permanent sale to Corinthians, or a consensual termination of his contract — clearing yet another expensive and unproductive file from the desk that Carnevali inherited when he arrived in June.
