Newcastle Set to Offer Tonali Renewal: Juventus Watching Developments

Sandro Tonali’s name continues to circulate around Continassa as transfer speculation swirls once more. The former Brescia and Milan midfielder, now making his mark in the Premier League with Newcastle, remains a long-standing target for Juventus, who view him as the ideal addition to Igor Tudor’s midfield.

However, serious obstacles stand in the way of a potential move. IlBianconero report that Newcastle manager Eddie Howe has publicly revealed the club’s intention to offer Tonali a contract extension, entrusting the responsibility to the new sporting director, Ross. Howe expressed full confidence in the director’s ability to handle the renewal talks, underlining Newcastle’s commitment to their Italian star.

Tonali, born in 2000, is already tied to Newcastle until 30 June 2028 on a lucrative contract earning him seven million euros net per year plus a possible two million in bonuses. Any further extension would serve to keep him almost completely out of reach for potential suitors.

In recent days, Juventus’s interest has reportedly intensified, with constant contact maintained between the two parties since January 2025. At one stage, Juventus were rumoured to be the closest club to acquiring his services, yet formal negotiations never truly began. Should Tonali put pen to paper on a renewal at Newcastle, the scenario for Juventus could change drastically, leaving them with a significant challenge in their long-term midfield plans.
