Perin Could Unlock Juventus Move for Norton-Cuffy: The Bianconeri’s Market Strategy

Start

As the January transfer window approaches, Juventus are already shaping their plans with an eye on both arrivals and departures. The Turin club may not be preparing for major upheaval, but subtle adjustments could still strengthen Luciano Spalletti’s squad heading into the second half of the season.

Much of that activity could hinge on outgoing deals, which in turn may facilitate incoming signings. One link gaining traction is with Genoa, involving two familiar names — Mattia Perin and Brooke Norton-Cuffy.

Perin’s Situation at Juventus

Tuttosport report that Perin’s potential departure is once again a topic of discussion in Turin after resurfacing during the summer window. The experienced goalkeeper has been limited to occasional appearances this season, with his playing time significantly reduced compared to previous campaigns when he enjoyed more rotation under Thiago Motta.

Despite that, Perin remains a key figure inside the dressing room, providing leadership and stability as the deputy to Michele Di Gregorio. For this reason, Juventus are unwilling to let him leave without compensation, especially since Carlo Pinsoglio is unlikely to step up as a full-time second-choice goalkeeper.

Juventus Eyeing Norton-Cuffy

That’s where Brooke Norton-Cuffy enters the picture. The English full-back, currently with Genoa, has been followed closely by Juventus scouts in recent weeks. Reports suggest a Juventus representative attended Genoa’s recent match against Atalanta specifically to observe the defender’s progress.

Norton-Cuffy is viewed as a potential option for the right flank, particularly if João Mário leaves the club. The Portuguese defender could be sold for around £11–12 million to avoid a financial loss on the books, although no formal negotiations have yet taken place.

Genoa manager Daniele De Rossi would prefer to keep Norton-Cuffy, but an offer in the region of £15–20 million might force the club to reconsider. A player exchange involving Perin could help unlock the deal, and new Juventus sporting director Giovanni Ottolini — the man who originally brought Norton-Cuffy to Italy — could play a decisive role in facilitating the move.
