Fabrizio Romano has addressed the growing speculation surrounding Juventus’ supposed interest in Sporting midfielder Morten Hjulmand. Speaking on his YouTube channel, the journalist clarified the situation, shedding light on the real state of play between the two clubs.
In recent days, several reports both in Italy and abroad have linked the Danish international with a potential move to Turin. However, Romano was quick to pour cold water on the rumours, explaining that while Hjulmand has been on Juventus’ radar in the past—particularly last August—he is not under consideration for a transfer in January.
“Hjulmand is not a topic for January,” Romano explained. “Juventus will not be signing him in the winter window, and Sporting have no intention of selling.”
The Portuguese club’s stance is underlined by the player’s high release clause, which is understood to be around €80 million under certain conditions. Sporting have made it clear they will not negotiate below that figure, especially in the January market.
For now, Juventus are expected to focus on reinforcing other areas of the squad, with any potential move for Hjulmand likely postponed until at least next summer.
