Rugani

Rugani Close to Fiorentina Move as Juventus Exit Nears

Daniele Rugani looks set to end his time in Turin, with the Juventus defender reportedly close to joining Fiorentina. According to reports from Sky sport Italia (via ilBianconero) the move is in an advanced stage, as the Viola seek experienced reinforcements to strengthen their backline ahead of the second half of the season.

Fiorentina, currently battling to secure their Serie A safety, are keen to provide manager Paolo Vanoli with a reliable and seasoned option in defence. Rugani fits that profile perfectly: a player with deep knowledge of Italian football and years of top-flight experience under his belt.

It has been a difficult campaign for the 31‑year‑old centre‑back at Juventus. Whether under Igor Tudor or later Luciano Spalletti, Rugani has struggled to find regular playing time, collecting just eight appearances and a total of 350 minutes across all competitions. His situation was further complicated by a calf injury that sidelined him for several weeks.

Now, the possibility of a fresh start appears imminent. After previous loan spells with Rennes, Cagliari and Ajax, Rugani could soon embark on a new chapter in Florence. Negotiations between Juventus and Fiorentina are said to be progressing positively, with both clubs working to finalise the details.

The deal is expected to take the form of a loan with an option to buy — which would become an obligation should Fiorentina secure their Serie A survival. All signs point to an agreement being only a step away, paving the way for Rugani to wear the purple shirt before the transfer window closes.
