Fiorentina, currently battling to secure their Serie A safety, are keen to provide manager Paolo Vanoli with a reliable and seasoned option in defence. Rugani fits that profile perfectly: a player with deep knowledge of Italian football and years of top-flight experience under his belt.
It has been a difficult campaign for the 31‑year‑old centre‑back at Juventus. Whether under Igor Tudor or later Luciano Spalletti, Rugani has struggled to find regular playing time, collecting just eight appearances and a total of 350 minutes across all competitions.
