Ruggeri

Ruggeri’s Agent Confirms Juventus Interest Is Plausible — But Nothing Concrete Yet

The agent of Matteo Ruggeri has broken his silence on the growing transfer speculation surrounding the Atletico Madrid left-back, offering a carefully worded but telling response to questions about a potential move to Juventus.

Speaking to Calciomercato, Manuel Montipò — Ruggeri’s representative — acknowledged that interest is real but stopped short of confirming anything formal: “It is clear that the transfer market is open and anything could happen, because there is no shortage of requests. He has them both in Italy and abroad, but today there is nothing concrete. Right now he is Atletico Madrid’s first-choice starter.”

The Juventus Question — Answered Diplomatically

When pressed specifically on Juventus, Montipò was characteristically measured: “Juventus? They are a top club, and all top clubs look at strong players. So there could be interest — I don’t know — but there could be.”

It is the kind of answer that neither opens nor closes a door, but in the language of football agents, it is far from a denial. The acknowledgement that Ruggeri has suitors in both Italy and abroad, combined with the explicit reference to Juventus as a club capable of attracting elite talent, confirms that the bianconeri link is not merely media speculation.

The Wider Context

As previously reported, any Juventus move for Ruggeri would be contingent on the sale of Andrea Cambiaso, with Barcelona among those interested in the versatile full-back. Should that departure materialise, Juventus would have both the funds and the positional need to make a serious approach — and the existing negotiations with Atletico Madrid over Sorloth and Nico González provide a ready-made channel through which a Ruggeri deal could also be explored.

For now, Montipò’s message is clear: his client is valued, in demand, and very much on the radar of Europe’s biggest clubs. The next move, as with so much of Juventus’s summer business, depends on what happens on the way out of Turin first.
