Serie A | Fiorentina v Juventus: Probable starting lineups

Tactics

Juventus face a challenging lineup situation as they prepare for their upcoming match. The team continues to grapple with three long-term injuries, and Douglas Luiz will be unavailable for the weekend fixture. The status of Nicolo Savona, Jonas Rouhi, and Francisco Conceicao remains uncertain, adding to the team’s selection dilemma.

In the midfield, Khephren Thuram is expected to take a central role, following his impressive performance in the previous encounter where he scored twice. However, the starting striker position is still up for debate.

French forward Randal Kolo Muani has been in excellent form, earning the title of Serie A ‘Player of the Month’ for February. This recent success has seen him favoured over Dusan Vlahovic in the starting lineup. While at Juventus, Vlahovic has maintained a respectable record of one goal every 162 minutes with a 15% shot conversion rate. Interestingly, during his time at Fiorentina, Vlahovic’s statistics were slightly better, averaging a goal every 146 minutes with a 19% shot success rate.

On the opposing side, Fiorentina seems to have found a worthy successor to Vlahovic in Moise Kean. The former Juventus player has been in stellar form, currently holding the second position in the Capocannoniere rankings. Having started in Thursday’s match, Kean is likely to lead the attack once again.

Another ex-Juventus player, Nicolo Fagioli, is hoping to retain his position in Fiorentina’s central midfield. However, with Yacine Adli back from injury and potentially ready for a start, Fagioli’s place in the starting eleven is not guaranteed. The visitors will be missing only one player, Andrea Colpani.

Fiorentina receives a boost with the return of Rolando Mandragora and Nicolo Zaniolo, who have completed their suspensions. Additionally, Pablo Mari and Cher Ndour will be available for selection, although they are not included in the UEFA squad list.

Fiorentina possible starting lineup:
De Gea; Pongracic, Mari, Ranieri; Dodo, Adli, Cataldi, Ndour, Gosens; Beltran, Kean

Juventus possible starting lineup:
Di Gregorio; Weah, Gatti, Kalulu, Cambiaso; Thuram, Locatelli; Yildiz, McKennie, Gonzalez; Kolo Muani
