Juventus will host Hellas Verona at the Allianz Stadium in Turin on Monday evening with kickoff scheduled for 20:45 local time. Thiago Motta’s side, currently fourth in Serie A with 49 points, aim to bounce back after their recent Coppa Italia quarter-final exit against Empoli. In the league, however, results have been favouring the Bianconeri in recent weeks, as they seek their fifth consecutive victory against Verona.
The Bianconeri’s backline has been further depleted with young full-back Nicolo Savona and Chelsea loanee Renato Veiga joining the list of injured players.
The absence of Bremer and Juan Cabal, both ruled out for the remainder of the season, however, Pierre Kalulu returns to the squad. The Italian tactician is expected to field Federico Gatti and Lloyd Kelly as his central defensive pairing.
Midfield concerns have also surfaced for Juventus, with Brazilian midfielder Douglas Luiz sidelined due to a flexor injury shortly after returning from a previous layoff.
In attack, Motta faces a selection dilemma between Dusan Vlahovic and Randal Kolo Muani. Vlahovic’s impressive record against Verona, including six Serie A goals and a brace in their last encounter, may influence the decision.
Hellas Verona, meanwhile, arrive in Turin with their own injury woes. The visitors will be without key players Suat Serdar, Martin Frese, Abdou Harroui, and their top scorer Casper Tengstedt.
On a positive note for Verona, Domagoj Bradaric returns from suspension and is likely to reclaim his position on the left flank, potentially at the expense of veteran winger Darko Lazovic.
Tomas Suslov is expected to continue his supporting role for striker Amin Sarr, while Antoine Bernede’s match-winning performance against Fiorentina could see him promoted to the starting lineup.
Probable Lineups:
Juventus (4-2-3-1): Di Gregorio; Weah, Gatti, Kelly, Cambiaso; Locatelli, Thuram; Yildiz, McKennie, Mbangula; Kolo Muani
Verona (3-4-2-1): Montipò; Ghilardi, Coppola, Valentini; Tchatchoua, Bernede, Duda, Lazovic; Kastanos, Suslov; Sarr
