Former Juventus striker Michele Padovano has praised Luciano Spalletti’s impact on the Bianconeri, highlighting the coach’s ability to revitalise both the team’s tactics and the players’ mindset. Speaking on Sky Sport after Juve’s 2–0 win away at Pisa — their third consecutive league victory — the ex-forward shared his impressions of the team’s renewed form.
“One thing is certain,” Padovano said. “Spalletti, from what I can see, has fixed what needed to be fixed — both on the pitch from a tactical perspective and in the minds of some players who were clearly performing below their potential.”
Padovano continued: “He’s been good in that sense because he probably needs to coach them every day. In the National Team it’s different — we know very well that you only have the players occasionally. But I think he now has a great opportunity with these next four matches, which he must absolutely win if he wants to compete with the teams that, in my opinion, currently have something more than Juventus — Napoli and Inter.”
Padovano, born in 1966, played for Juventus between 1995 and 1997, winning one Serie A title, two Italian Super Cups, the Champions League, the Intercontinental Cup, and the UEFA Super Cup, making 63 appearances and scoring 18 goals in total.
