Spalletti Set to Take Charge at Juventus: Staff Decisions and Player Reactions

Luciano Spalletti is on the verge of officially becoming Juventus’ new head coach. The club has moved decisively to secure his appointment, offering a contract worth around €3 million for the remainder of the season, with the immediate goal of qualifying for the Champions League — a non-negotiable demand set by the board during talks in Milan. Further plans for next season will depend on achieving that initial objective.

Defining the Coaching Staff

With Spalletti’s arrival imminent, Tuttosport (Via IlBianconero) how attention now turns to finalising his technical team. The crucial question is the identity of the goalkeeping coach, with Nista’s future uncertain and Adriano Bonaiuti emerging as the leading candidate. Marco Domenichini, Spalletti’s long-time assistant, will serve as his deputy once again, while Daniele Baldini is expected to return as technical collaborator. The fitness department will undergo updates too, with former Napoli conditioning coach Francesco Sinatti likely joining forces with Juventus’ new Head of Performance, Darren Burgess.

Spalletti’s Confidence in the Squad

Spalletti is said to be optimistic about the quality of the current Juventus team, believing it has the depth and talent to achieve results quickly. The Tuscan coach particularly values the versatility of the defensive line, which he sees as capable of adapting to tactical situations. Lloyd Kelly has impressed him with his composure and athleticism, Pierre Kalulu is viewed as a natural fit for the right-back position in a back four, and Federico Gatti is expected to retain a role even though he was not a key figure during Spalletti’s time with the Azzurri.

Midfield remains central to his plans. Spalletti holds Manuel Locatelli in high regard and intends to build a balanced structure around him, without any preconceptions about the player’s position or function. He also sees Khephren Thuram and Teun Koopmeiners as key figures in flexible tactical frameworks, alternating between a 4-2-3-1 and 4-3-3 depending on the match context.

Vlahovic Welcomes the Change

In attack, enthusiasm is already brewing. Dusan Vlahovic is reportedly delighted by Spalletti’s impending arrival, convinced that the new system will enhance his scoring output and allow him to surpass the twenty-goal mark. While Jonathan David remains seen as the likely first-choice striker at this stage, there will be healthy competition in the attacking department.

Kenan Yildiz, a player Spalletti greatly admires, is expected to thrive under his guidance, while Francisco Conceição will receive special attention as the coach looks to refine his decision-making and boost his confidence. Belgian forward Lois Openda, whom Spalletti has followed closely at international level, could also find fresh motivation in Turin.

With the new coach ready to step in, Juventus are preparing for a decisive transition marked by renewed conviction, tactical identity, and the firm expectation of an immediate resurgence under Spalletti’s command.
