Spalletti: “Whoever Replaces Tudor at Juventus Will Be Lucky”

Luciano Spalletti has spoken about the possibility of becoming Juventus’ next head coach, offering warm words for Igor Tudor while showing respect for the club’s prestige.

As speculation grows over Spalletti’s potential move to Turin, the former Italy manager spoke to Sky Sport (as quoted by IlBianconero) during an event at the Anteo theatre, where he was presenting a commercial alongside Francesco Totti. Asked about Juventus and a reported meeting with Damien Comolli, Spalletti responded with calm detachment and a touch of humility.

“I’m feeling good,” he said. “Naturally, I have the ambition to put right what has happened to me recently. I’m waiting peacefully to see what opportunities come my way.”

When pressed about conversations with Juventus officials, Spalletti light‑heartedly remarked, “I thought we were here to talk about the Montenegro advert! But if I have to speak about Juventus, I’ll gladly do so in favour of Tudor. From what I’ve seen of him, he’s a serious man, a true professional. Watching him work on the pitch and from the bench, he gave me the impression of someone with substance, who goes straight to the heart. Whoever replaces him will be lucky. It’s a shame about what he’s going through now, but his successor will find a team already well‑prepared, one that can bring joy to its supporters.”

Asked whether he believes Juventus are Scudetto contenders, Spalletti avoided predictions. “I don’t know,” he said. “I’m probably the least suitable person to comment on Juventus today. We’re here for a different reason.” When questioned if he might attend Cremonese‑Juventus, he smiled: “I’m always at the matches because I love football. It’s a passion I’ll carry for life.”

Speaking later to *Cronache di Spogliatoio*, Spalletti again praised Tudor’s professionalism: “I know exactly how it feels in his position. He’s one of the true professionals. Whoever coaches Juventus next will find a motivated team, trained properly, because it was clear that he carried out his job in full.”

Finally, Spalletti paid tribute to Juventus’ stature in Italian football: “Juventus are a great club with a great history. In my opinion, every coach would gladly take that job. It could be the fortune of any manager.”
