Frattesi

Tuttosport – Juventus eye Frattesi: the ‘Muharemovic card’ could be decisive

Juventus remain strongly interested in Davide Frattesi as they look to strengthen their midfield ahead of the next transfer window. The Italy international, born in 1999, may not be the deep-lying playmaker Luciano Spalletti is ideally seeking, but his energy, late runs into the box, and goal-scoring instincts make him an attractive option for the Bianconeri.

Tuttosport report how Frattesi, a long-time admirer’s pick for Juventus — with Giorgio Chiellini reportedly among his supporters — is open to the idea of a move to Turin. He’s struggled for consistent playing time at Inter this season, finding himself behind the likes of Piotr Zieliński, Petar Sučić, and the established starting trio in Simone Inzaghi’s midfield.

Negotiating with Inter

Dealing with Inter, however, is anything but straightforward. A player swap involving Khéphren Thuram has already been ruled out, as Juventus consider the French midfielder untouchable. Two other scenarios remain on the table: a paid loan deal with a mandatory buy option activated upon Champions League qualification, or a discounted fee for Frattesi’s transfer — potentially involving a clever financial mechanism.

The Muharemovic advantage

That mechanism could involve Tarik Muharemovic, the young defender who has caught Inter’s attention as they look to rejuvenate their back line. Sassuolo, who currently hold his contract, would only consider selling him for around €25 million. Juventus, crucially, maintain a 50% sell-on clause from Muharemovic’s previous transfer.

This means that if Inter were to purchase him, half of the fee would be redirected to Juventus — effectively helping to offset or even partially finance a move for Frattesi. It’s a complex but potentially mutually beneficial operation, one that could take shape in the coming weeks.

The Cambiaso option

Another possibility mentioned is a swap deal involving Andrea Cambiaso, a player admired in Milan’s blue half. However, Juventus consider the versatile full-back an important part of their long-term project, despite a somewhat inconsistent campaign. For now, such a trade seems improbable, with Cambiaso seen as a key pillar in Spalletti’s plans.
