Vlahovic in Tears as Muscle Injury Forces Early Exit Against Cagliari

Start

It was a difficult evening for Dusan Vlahovic at the Allianz Stadium, as the Serbian striker was forced to leave the pitch in tears during Juventus’ clash with Cagliari. The forward pulled up just before the 30th minute, appearing to suffer a muscle injury to his left adductor following a shot on goal. Realising the problem immediately, he signalled to the bench, prompting Luciano Spalletti to replace him with Jonathan David.

Vlahovic looked visibly distraught as he made his way off, covering his face with his hands and struggling to contain his emotions. According to reports from DAZN, he sat on the bench clearly frustrated after telling Spalletti he was “in a lot of pain.” The full extent of his injury will only become clear after medical tests in the coming days, but the club will be hoping it’s nothing serious.

This setback comes at a time when Vlahovic had recently regained full fitness. He had started from the bench in the Champions League clash with Bodø/Glimt — the first time this season he hadn’t featured from the start — after playing a full 90 minutes against Fiorentina the previous weekend. That appearance had come despite minor fitness issues picked up while on international duty, which he had managed to overcome.

In his absence, David took to the field again, offering him another opportunity to impress after finding the net in Norway. Juventus supporters will now anxiously await updates on Vlahovic’s condition, hoping their number nine returns swiftly to lead the line once more.
