A solitary goal from Juan Cabal sealed Juventus’ 1–0 victory over Bologna in the 15th round of Serie A. Luciano Spalletti’s side came away from the Dall’Ara with a crucial three points in their push for European qualification, courtesy of a header from the Colombian defender — his first goal of the season — just half an hour from time. Cabal, who had replaced an irritated Cambiaso (the latter vented his frustration by snapping the corner flag), delivered the moment that lifted Juventus to fifth place in the table, just one point behind Roma.
In the aftermath of the win, former Juventus and Bologna midfielder Giancarlo Marocchi analysed the performance of young Turkish forward Kenan Yildiz during Sky Sport’s post-match coverage.
“I hadn’t seen Juventus for a while,” Marocchi admitted. “Of course, a little more quality wouldn’t hurt. Sure, there’s the usual Yildiz playing against a somewhat tired Bologna, but even so, they forced Juventus to work hard. Every team has its identity. I spent a few years in Turin, and back then you could feel what it meant to be part of the Agnelli family.”
Marocchi didn’t shy away from pointing out Juventus’ current weaknesses, adding: “Today we know where the defects are — technically, it’s not great.”
Turning his attention back to Yildiz, Marocchi offered pointed advice to the young talent: *“Yildiz must study the story of Del Piero. He started out as part of a front three under Lippi and often dropped deep, but gradually he realised that scoring goals was what mattered most. That’s how he became a real striker.”*
The former midfielder concluded with encouragement for both player and coach: *“Right now, someone like Yildiz is perfect for Spalletti. I’d just like to see him a bit more decisive in the final third.”*
