The managerial landscape in Serie A is rapidly shifting as Juventus intensify their pursuit of Gian Piero Gasperini, following Antonio Conte’s decision to remain at Napoli. With Massimiliano Allegri set to return to Milan after a year’s hiatus and Conte committed to continuing his project in Naples, Tuttosport report (as quoted by IlBianconero) that Juventus have turned its attention to Gasperini, currently under contract with Atalanta until 2027 but reportedly eager to seek a new challenge.
At present, Igor Tudor remains the official head coach of Juventus, having secured a fourth-place finish in the league and triggering a contract extension through June 2026. Tudor is expected to lead the team at the upcoming Club World Cup, but Juventus has reserved the right to terminate his contract by paying a small penalty should they decide to appoint a new manager.
Gasperini, who has spent nearly a decade transforming Atalanta into a formidable Serie A side, is now at the centre of a tug-of-war between Roma and Juventus. He recently met with Roma’s leadership, including Claudio Ranieri and sporting director Florent Ghisolfi, in Florence. While the meeting was positive, no final agreement has been reached, leaving the door open for Juventus to make their move.
Juventus has already initiated contact with Gasperini’s representatives, hoping to convince him to return to the club where he began his coaching career at the youth level and played as a footballer in his early days. Gasperini is reportedly taking a few days to reflect on his future before making a definitive decision.
