Gyokeres Chooses Premier League Over Juventus: Jonathan David Back in the Spotlight

Viktor Gyokeres was Juventus’ top target to bolster their attack for the upcoming season, but the Swedish striker now appears set for a move to Arsenal, shifting the Bianconeri’s focus to alternative options. According to the latest reports from Corriere dello Sport (as quoted by IlBianconero) , Jonathan David has emerged as the leading candidate to fill the void.

Gyokeres Turns Down Juventus for Arsenal

Juventus had prepared a substantial offer for Gyokeres, reportedly putting €60 million on the table—€55 million as a fixed fee plus bonuses—to convince Sporting CP. Although the Portuguese club initially demanded €80 million, they seemed ready to negotiate. However, Gyokeres’ preference for a Premier League move proved decisive, with Arsenal now on the verge of signing him.

Juventus’ Search Shifts: David or Osimhen?

With Gyokeres out of reach, Juventus considered Victor Osimhen, but the financial demands are steep: €85 million for the transfer fee and at least €12 million in salary. These figures are beyond Juventus’ current financial strategy, making the pursuit of Osimhen unlikely.

This situation has brought Jonathan David back into focus. The Canadian forward, now a free agent after leaving Lille, is seeking a salary of €7 million per season, along with €12 million in agent bonuses and around €1 million as a signing bonus. While David’s numbers don’t quite match Gyokeres, his record is impressive: 109 goals in 232 matches, including 25 goals last season—10 of which came in the Champions League.
