Juventus have not abandoned the idea of signing Jadon Sancho, but the club first needs to make its squad leaner by moving on players who are currently considered surplus to requirements. Il Corriere dello Sport report (as quoted by ilbianconero) that before being able to make a decisive move for Sancho, Juventus must finalize at least two departures.
Key players whose situations are being closely monitored include Timothy Weah, who is linked with a transfer to Marseille despite stalled negotiations, Nico Gonzalez, who is also on the verge of leaving, and Douglas Luiz, who is at odds with the club and is preparing for a possible return to the Premier League. If Juventus manages to complete at least two of these sales, room would be created both financially and in terms of squad space to pursue Sancho more aggressively.
For Juventus and Sancho, most of the groundwork for a deal is already in place, though a few final contractual details still need to be resolved. One such issue is Juventus’s potential participation in a severance package for Sancho should he leave Manchester United a year before his contract ends in June 2026.
However, Juventus cannot afford to wait too long, as other clubs remain interested in the English winger. Borussia Dortmund, where Sancho shone between 2017 and 2021 and again on loan in early 2024, has reopened talks with the player’s entourage. While Dortmund has yet to make an official offer, they are closely monitoring the situation and could act depending on how the transfer landscape evolves.
