“Yildiz and Paz? A Battle Within the Battle” — Del Piero on Como vs Juventus

The upcoming clash between Como and Juventus is more than just a marquee fixture on the Serie A calendar. It’s a meeting of generations — and a duel between two emerging stars who could shape the future of Italian football: Kenan Yildiz and Nico Paz.

Former Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero, speaking to La Stampa (as quoted by ilbianconero) , shone a light on the significance of the encounter, offering an enthusiastic take that captured both the beauty and meaning of the match.

“Two young players carrying great responsibility”

“For me, it’s a wonderful match,” said Del Piero. “And it’s great that we’re talking about players so young who have accepted such responsibility. Both Nico Paz and Kenan Yildiz are playing fantastic football — they’re real jewels. Their duel will be a battle within the battle, one not to be missed.”

The Como–Juventus fixture arrives at a moment when the Serie A table is still finding its shape. Only six rounds in, Del Piero warned against drawing conclusions too early. “Some teams are facing more difficulties than others, but it’s exciting to see so many sides still in contention. You can’t yet say who will win — and that makes the league even more fascinating.”

“Italy knows how to surprise when it matters”

Del Piero also turned his thoughts to the Italian national team, maintaining faith in its revival after missing the last two World Cups. “As fans, we have a dream — actually, two. The first is to qualify for the World Cup again, but we also know that during the tournament, Italy can give so much. This team knows how to surprise when it matters most.”
