Juventus travel to the Unipol Domus tonight looking to back up their win over Atalanta against one of Serie A’s early-season surprise packages.
Sunday night’s late kick-off in Matchday 6 pits a high-flying Cagliari, who sit fourth on 12 points, against a Juventus side in seventh with 10. Pisacane’s men have won their last three league games, with their only defeat so far a 1-0 loss to Inter, while Spalletti’s side are looking to confirm the improvement shown before the international break. A win would cut the gap to the top of the table, while the Sardinians are aiming to cement their place among the leaders.
Juventus
The absentee list is long once again. Yildiz, Thuram, Locatelli, Boga, Cabal, Milik, Grabara, Ekhator, Owusu and Alajbegovic are all unavailable, and new goalkeeper Neto, signed during the break to cover for Grabara, is not yet ready to be involved. Vicario therefore keeps his place in goal.
Spalletti is expected to go with a back four of Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly and Cambiaso, the latter set to start his first league game of the season after a disappointing opening to the campaign. Sarr and Douglas Luiz anchor the midfield, with McKennie pushed higher on the trequarti. Zhegrova is favoured over Conceiçao on the left, Nico Gonzalez operates on the opposite flank, and Kolo Muani leads the line.
Juventus probable XI (3-4-2-1): Vicario; Kalulu, Bremer, Kelly, Cambiaso; Douglas Luiz, Sarr; Zhegrova, McKennie, Nico Gonzalez; Kolo Muani. Coach: Spalletti.
Cagliari
Pisacane is without Deiola, Idrissi, Felici, Trepy and Kevin Carlos through injury. Mina partners Rodriguez at the heart of defence, with Ze Pedro and Obert covering the flanks in front of Caprile. Adopo, Winks and Romano make up the midfield, while Fazzini and Daniel Maldini play behind lone striker Mendy.
Cagliari probable XI (4-3-2-1): Caprile; Ze Pedro, Rodriguez, Mina, Obert; Adopo, Winks, Romano; Fazzini, Maldini; Mendy. Coach: Pisacane.
