Capello: “With Spalletti, Juventus Must Believe in the Scudetto”

Start

Few people understand Italian football better than Fabio Capello, and the former Juventus and Milan coach has offered his view on the Bianconeri’s resurgence under Luciano Spalletti. Speaking in an interview with La Gazzetta dello Sport, Capello expressed confidence that Juventus can go all the way this season if they continue on their current path.

Spalletti’s Impact in Turin

“Luciano Spalletti has brought Juventus back close to the Champions League places thanks to a series of strong results, which were far from guaranteed when he took charge of the team at the end of October,” Capello said. “I believe the season is still long enough that Juventus can genuinely compete for the title.”

Spalletti’s arrival has indeed transformed the atmosphere at the Allianz Stadium. The team appears more united, their play more fluid, and belief has returned both on the pitch and among supporters.

The Key to Juventus’ Progress

Capello also analysed the tactical improvements that have spurred Juve’s revival, focusing in particular on the club’s attacking options and the progress of the younger players.

“The Bianconeri have wide players of very high quality, both technically and physically, and in Italy, defenders struggle to handle this type of footballer,” he explained. “The difference for Juventus has come from the growth of Conceição and especially Yildiz. Yildiz is a great talent — he’s showing exceptional consistency both in goals and assists, though we must remember he’s still very young.”

While praising the youngsters, Capello also noted areas for improvement in Juve’s attack. “Spalletti has had only moderately positive responses from Openda and David,” he added. “Both strikers still seem a little too timid. That’s why I’m convinced that Vlahović’s return from injury will be crucial for Luciano and for Juventus’ ambitions.”
