Champions League 2025/26: Juventus Drawn Against Real Madrid

Start

The Champions League group stage draw for the 2025/26 season has set the stage for a thrilling campaign, with Juventus finding themselves in a challenging yet exciting group. The event took place in Monte Carlo, as UEFA unveiled the schedule for the second edition of the tournament under the expanded 36-team format.

Italian Clubs in the Draw

Among the Italian representatives, Inter were placed in the first pot, while Atalanta and Juventus were drawn from the second. Napoli, meanwhile, faced a more difficult path starting in the fourth pot.

For the Bianconeri, under coach Igor Tudor, this campaign represents much more than a continental adventure. After seasons of inconsistency, a strong run in Europe could be a turning point, both to regain international prestige and to measure the strength of their new project.

Juventus’ Opponents Revealed

The draw left Juventus with a diverse and demanding set of opponents. Their group includes both elite European sides and ambitious emerging clubs:

– Real Madrid (away) – the marquee clash of the group and one of European football’s greatest rivalries.
– Borussia Dortmund (home) – another heavyweight duel in Turin.
– Benfica (home) – a difficult test against Portugal’s most decorated club.
– Villarreal (away) – a tricky Spanish opponent with strong European pedigree.
– Sporting CP (home) – a club known for developing young talent.
– Bodo/Glimt (away) – a challenging trip to Norway with tough conditions.
– Pafos (home) – the absolute debutants from Cyprus, making their first appearance on the biggest stage.
– Monaco (away) – an encounter with the Principality’s competitive side.

The Road Ahead

The group stage kicks off between September 16 and 18, with every point crucial in the new league-style format. The top eight teams will advance directly to the Round of 16, the bottom eight will be eliminated, and the middle 16 must fight for survival through play-offs.

Every fixture counts, and for Juventus this draw signals the beginning of a demanding European journey—highlighted by the upcoming clash against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabéu.

The ultimate prize is the May 30, 2026 final, set to take place at the Puskás Arena in Budapest. For Tudor’s Juventus, the mission is clear: prove their hunger, compete with the best, and aim to restore their place among Europe’s elite.
