In the wake of Juventus’ recent coaching shake-up, tensions have risen as the agent of former club captain Danilo publicly criticized the decision to replace Thiago Motta with Igor Tudor. However, Danilo himself has swiftly moved to disassociate himself from these comments, reaffirming his support for his former club.
The turbulent atmosphere at Juventus intensified with the dismissal of Thiago Motta and the subsequent appointment of Igor Tudor as the new head coach. Amidst this transition, Bruno Misorelli, the agent representing Danilo, took to social media to express his disapproval of the club’s decisions. In a now-deleted post, Misorelli stated, “Motta was the first mistake, Tudor will be the next. They have learned nothing.”
This isn’t the first time Misorelli has been critical of Juventus’ management. In January, he had already voiced his concerns about the club’s plans, accusing sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli of orchestrating both Motta’s and Danilo’s departures.
However, Danilo, who left Juventus for Flamengo earlier this year, quickly distanced himself from his agent’s remarks. The Brazilian defender took to Instagram to make his position clear: “I absolutely do not agree with the statements and comments of my agent, and I would never dare to give advice to the management on what to do. I am a supporter from afar and only wish the best for Juventus!”
Danilo’s departure from Juventus in January was not without controversy. The defender, who had been a key figure at the club for several years, found himself marginalized under Motta’s management. During his introductory interview at Flamengo, Danilo expressed his disappointment with how his exit from Juventus unfolded: “In recent times, with internal changes and certain planning, they probably understood that I wasn’t suitable, but not for football reasons. This bothered me and made me suffer. From the moment I faced this difficulty, which had nothing to do with my abilities on the field, I realized it was time to seek new horizons because this was making me suffer a lot, and I understood that I needed to go to a place where I could feel better.”
