David for Kolo Muani: Juventus and PSG Consider Swap Deal

The summer transfer window may still be some months away, but the first significant ideas are already beginning to circulate. According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain could explore a player exchange involving Randal Kolo Muani and Jonathan David — a deal that might satisfy all parties involved.

In Paris, sporting director Luis Campos is said to be considering a move for David, with whom he shares a long-standing connection from their time together at Lille. It was Campos who first discovered the Canadian forward and brought him to Ligue 1, and he reportedly remains convinced that David can once again reach the prolific form that once saw him score over 20 goals per season.

PSG Ready to Move On from Kolo Muani

Kolo Muani’s spell at PSG has not gone as planned. Signed in 2023 for a considerable fee, the French striker has struggled to impose himself under Luis Enrique and has since spent time out on loan, including at Tottenham. Now back on the club’s books at the end of the season, PSG are keen to find a permanent solution — and a potential swap could provide one.

For Juventus, the Frenchman represents a familiar target. The Bianconeri chased Kolo Muani last summer before turning to Jonathan David instead, signing him on a free transfer. With recent discussions between the clubs reopening in January, relations have warmed, creating fertile ground for new negotiations.

Juventus’ Striker Plans Taking Shape

In Turin, the rebuilding of the attacking department remains a priority. Dusan Vlahovic’s contract renewal continues to top the agenda, while the club evaluates options for players who have not lived up to expectations. David’s future is also under consideration, and the idea of a trade for Kolo Muani could align with Juventus’ strategic and financial objectives.

Balancing the Books

From a financial standpoint, the two forwards are relatively well-matched. Kolo Muani, slightly older, earns around €7 million per year plus bonuses — a salary range similar to David’s. An exchange would therefore be manageable from a wage perspective.

PSG aim to recoup roughly €40 million from Kolo Muani’s valuation to avoid a loss on their initial investment. For Juventus, David’s sale at such a figure would represent a major profit, having signed him on a free transfer less than a year ago.

While no official talks have yet been confirmed, the proposed swap could provide both clubs with an elegant solution — PSG offloading a surplus striker and Juventus securing a powerful attacking option as they plan for the future.
