Following Exor’s decision to unanimously reject Tether’s proposal to acquire Juventus, Exor CEO John Elkann reiterated the group’s firm stance, ruling out any possibility of selling the club. Speaking to Juventus’s official channels, Elkann reinforced both the emotional and historical bond between the Agnelli family and the Bianconeri, declaring: “Our history and our values are not for sale.”
Elkann Reaffirms Exor’s Commitment
The Agnelli family holding had earlier released a formal statement rejecting Tether’s unsolicited bid to buy Juventus. Elkann’s words further underlined the family’s desire to protect the legacy of a club that has been part of their identity for more than a century.
“The Juve has been part of my family for 102 years,” Elkann explained. “It’s part of the real meaning of the word because, over a century, four generations have made it grow, made it stronger, cared for it in difficult moments, and celebrated it in many happy ones — but not only that. The Juve is part of a bigger family, the Bianconeri family made up of millions of supporters in Italy and worldwide, who love Juventus as you love those dear to you.
“Precisely thinking of this passion, as a family we continue to support our team and look toward the future to build a winning Juventus. Juventus — our history and our values — are not for sale.”
No Plan to Sell, but Room for Collaboration
Elkann’s message makes it clear that the Agnelli family has no intention of relinquishing control of the club. Instead, Exor remains open to exploring a working relationship with Tether, which has previously expressed an interest in becoming more closely involved with the Juventus project. The focus, however, remains firmly on preserving the club’s heritage and ensuring that its success is built on the same principles that have guided the family for more than a hundred years.
With these remarks, Elkann sought not only to end speculation over a possible sale but also to remind supporters and partners of Juventus’s enduring identity — an institution shaped by loyalty, tradition and ambition rather than financial opportunity.
