Fresh transfer rumours from Turkey suggest that Fenerbahce have set their sights on Juventus forward Lois Openda. Reports from Fanatik indicate the Belgian striker is seen as a strong fit for the club’s attacking system, following recent talk of Galatasaray’s interest in Teun Koopmeiners.
Openda’s Struggles in Turin
Openda’s start to life at Juventus has been underwhelming. Since joining from RB Leipzig last summer, he has made 21 appearances across all competitions, totalling 720 minutes on the pitch. So far, he has scored just two goals — one in the Champions League against Bodo/Glimt and another in Serie A versus Roma.
Despite flashes of his trademark speed and energy, the 25-year-old has yet to establish himself as a consistent performer under Luciano Spalletti.
Details of the Deal
Openda joined Juventus on loan with an obligation to buy at the end of the season. The clause becomes active if the Bianconeri finish at least tenth in Serie A — a target that looks almost certain to be met. When triggered, Juventus will owe RB Leipzig a total of €40.6 million, payable over four instalments, plus additional costs of around €1.7 million. The initial loan fee was €3.3 million.
While there are currently no formal offers from Fenerbahce, their interest could evolve depending on Openda’s performances in the coming months. If the Turkish club decide to move, Juventus may face a decision over whether to continue investing in the Belgian or consider an early sale.
