Fiorentina Fined for Offensive Choreography Against Juventus

Fiorentina

In a recent Serie A match at the Artemio Franchi stadium, Fiorentina supporters displayed a controversial choreography targeting Juventus, resulting in significant consequences for the club. The incident occurred during the 29th round of the 2024/25 Serie A season, where Fiorentina secured a 3-0 victory over their rivals.

The choreography, which featured an offensive message against Juventus in large letters, quickly spread across social media and was reported by international media outlets. This display divided public opinion, with some viewing it as harmless banter while others condemned it as a clear insult.

Following the match, the Sports Judge took action, imposing a fine of 50,000 euros on Fiorentina. The penalty came with a warning and covered not only the offensive choreography but also inappropriate chants and the throwing of three smoke bombs. Notably, the decision did not include closing the implicated sector of the stadium or mention any further investigations.

The official statement from the Sports Judge detailed the reasons for the fine, citing the “offensive expression” displayed in the “Curva Ferrovia” section before the match, as well as the “vulgar chants” directed at opposing players and fans during the game. The statement also mentioned the smoke bombs thrown into the area occupied by away supporters.

Reports suggest that Juventus expressed displeasure over the incident, allegedly contacting the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) and Serie A League to address the matter. It was also reported that Juventus reached out to the Florence Police Department to identify those responsible for the choreography.
