“I Am Ashamed”: Cambiaso Apologises After Red Card Incident

Andrea Cambiaso has publicly apologised following his costly sending-off, an incident that not only left Juventus temporarily at risk but will also see him suspended for at least one match. The dismissal means he will certainly miss the upcoming clash against Genoa and could also be absent for the high-profile encounter with Inter.

The full-back’s frustration boiled over in a moment of rashness, and while his team managed to secure the victory, his action was seen as an avoidable error. The club is expected to fine him, with little room for alternative measures given the seriousness of his conduct.

Cambiaso: “I Am Ashamed”

Realising the consequences straight away, Cambiaso quickly issued an apology via social media, admitting his mistake and expressing regret.
“I am not a violent person: in my life I have never raised my hands or done anything like this. Today I made a mistake and I want to apologise to my teammates, all the staff, the club and the fans. It was a bad gesture that does not belong to me and of which I am ashamed.”

He went on to stress that he intends to learn from the incident, adding:
“In my life I have made mistakes and from each of them I have always learned a lot. From this too I will learn, to become a better person. Forza Juve, until the end.”
