Antonio Cassano has once again made headlines with his unfiltered comments about Juventus and the state of Italian football. Known for his outspoken nature, Cassano didn’t hold back in his latest appearance on the show “Viva el Football.”
Cassano expressed his disbelief and disappointment at Juventus’ recent performances, particularly their elimination from the Champions League at the hands of PSV Eindhoven. He stated, “I would be ashamed if I were a Milan or Juventus player, getting eliminated by very poor teams like Feyenoord or PSV.”
The ex-player was particularly critical of Juventus’ performance against PSV, which he described as a “sensational rumba.” He then pointed to PSV’s subsequent 7-1 defeat against Arsenal as evidence of the declining quality of Italian football.
“Arsenal plays well, the team is strong, but guys, I repeat, seven goals away from home! That made me understand that the Italian championship is so poor that Juve is now back in the title race,” Cassano remarked.
He didn’t stop there, launching a broader attack on the state of Serie A: “How much do we suck in Italy, playing such terrible football at such a slow pace? Arsenal goes to them, scores seven goals, and Juve, over two legs, deserved to be eliminated. And now they say: ‘Juve is back’. Yes, but they should be ashamed of the crap they did.”
