Juventus Crisis: Giuntoli and Motta Hold Crucial Talks as Director Plans Player Meetings

In the wake of Juventus’ recent poor form, the club’s management is taking decisive action to address the crisis. Football director Cristiano Giuntoli and head coach Thiago Motta have engaged in further discussions, while plans are underway for individual meetings with key players.

With 14 players away on international duty, Tuesday’s training session at Continassa was a subdued affair. However, the focus remained sharp as the team concentrated on “technical work alternated with physical training,” according to the club’s statement.

Giuntoli, who had already spoken to the squad in the Franchi Stadium dressing room following Sunday’s disastrous defeat to Fiorentina, was once again present alongside Motta at the training ground. Their ongoing dialogue, which began with Monday’s meeting involving CEO Maurizio Scanavino, centered on finding urgent solutions to the current crisis.

The primary concern is securing a top-four finish, crucial for the club’s ambitions. Both tactical and managerial changes are on the table, with potential shifts in formation being considered. A move to a 4-3-3 or three-man defence hasn’t been ruled out as the team seeks to better utilize its strengths.

Motta has been urged to foster more open communication with his players and to be more receptive to their input. In the coming days, Giuntoli plans to conduct individual meetings with influential squad members to understand the root causes of the recent downturn and to demand maximum commitment.

The message to the players is clear: wearing the prestigious Juventus jersey comes with responsibilities, and passive performances without a fighting spirit are unacceptable.
