Juventus Injury Update: Mbangula Returns to Training as Koopmeiners Remains Sidelined

Mbangula

Juventus manager Igor Tudor has received mixed news on the injury front ahead of Sunday’s Serie A clash against Monza. Belgian midfielder Samuel Mbangula has rejoined full training after recovering from a right thigh overload, putting him in contention for selection this weekend.

The 21-year-old, sidelined last week, completed Friday’s session with the squad and is expected to be included in the matchday roster. His return bolsters Tudor’s midfield options, which have been stretched thin in recent weeks.

However, Teun Koopmeiners continues to train separately as he recovers from an Achilles tendon injury sustained during Juventus’ 2-1 win over Lecce on April 12. The Dutch midfielder’s participation against Monza appears unlikely, with the club opting for caution given the persistent discomfort.

Koopmeiners’ absence leaves a creative void in midfield, though Mbangula’s return offers Tudor additional flexibility. The Bianconeri aim to rebound from their midweek defeat to Parma, leaning on attackers Kenan Yildiz, Randal Kolo Muani, and Nicolas Gonzalez to spearhead their push for Champions League qualification.
