Juventus president Gianluca Ferrero has officially announced the closure of the criminal investigation concerning the club’s 2022 financial accounts. Speaking during the shareholders’ meeting, Ferrero revealed that the Rome Public Prosecutor’s Office has requested the case be dropped, marking a key turning point in a series of judicial proceedings that have surrounded the club in recent years.
Ferrero stated (as quoted by Calciomercato) that in the first decade of October 2025, the archiving of the 2022 balance sheet was confirmed, noting that Juventus had never been under investigation in relation to that financial year. According to the president, this decision effectively ends the criminal proceedings, closing one of the most delicate chapters in the club’s recent history — one that had already seen previous inquiries into financial reporting.
The decision by the prosecutors follows Juventus’s earlier choice to pursue a plea bargain concerning the three previous financial statements. In those cases, the club accepted the sanctions imposed to bring the matter to a resolution. The archiving of the 2022 accounts, however, signals a fresh start and reinforces the direction of the new management team.
With the legal proceedings now concluded, Juventus can look ahead with renewed confidence. Ferrero and the club’s leadership remain focused on strengthening the organisation’s financial stability and restoring its image of transparency and credibility.
