Kessié

Juventus Reignite Interest in Kessié: Salary Remains Key Obstacle

The name of Franck Kessié is once again being linked with Juventus. The Ivorian midfielder, formerly a key figure at both AC Milan and Atalanta, is currently competing in the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast but is reportedly reconsidering his move to Saudi Arabia.

La Stampa report (as quoted by Calciomercato) that Kessié’s experience at Al Ahli appears to have fallen short of expectations. As the Saudi club prepares another wave of high-profile signings, the player known as “The President” is said to be open to a return to European football — but only if his current contract is terminated early.

The main stumbling block, as often happens with players returning from the Middle East, is his wage packet. Kessié currently earns around €14 million per season, a figure entirely out of reach for Juventus. However, his contract is set to expire on 30 June, which gives the Bianconeri a potential opening.

Should Al Ahli agree to cover part of his salary — an arrangement seen before in similar deals — the transfer could become financially viable for Juventus. In that case, what now seems a distant dream might well turn into a realistic opportunity for the Turin club.
