“Leaving Juventus Was Very Difficult”: Danilo Opens Up About Emotional Farewell

Start

Former Juventus captain Danilo has spoken candidly about his emotional departure from the club and his return to Brazil, sharing his reflections in an interview with Romario TV (as quoted by IlBianconero) . The experienced defender, who recently joined Flamengo, described the complexity and depth of his decision to leave Europe and close a significant chapter in his career.

“When I left Juve it was very difficult,” Danilo explained. “You know, the thought of having to leave Europe, the Champions League and these things… Then I asked myself what really moved me when I talked about it, and the answer was Flamengo.”

Danilo emphasized that his decision was not made lightly or in haste, but came after a period of personal reflection and doubt. He acknowledged the weight of leaving behind the European stage, with all its prestige and challenges, for a new adventure in his homeland.

“I thought that I could really help on the pitch. But it was difficult, it wasn’t something I thought about and solved in an hour. I took my time, but it was the best choice.”
