Milan Monitor Vlahovic as Juventus Face Crucial Decision on Striker’s Future

Start

As Juventus players enjoy their post-Club World Cup break, the club’s management remains hard at work at Continassa, grappling with key transfer decisions—none more pressing than the future of Dusan Vlahovic. The Serbian striker, now entering the final year of his contract, stands at the centre of Juventus’ summer transfer strategy, with his potential departure or retention set to shape the club’s approach to both incoming and outgoing deals.

La Gazzetta dello Sport report how Vlahovic’s situation is complicated by his substantial salary, which is set to rise to €12 million in the final year of his contract. Juventus, facing the prospect of losing him for free next summer, are open to selling him now for a fee in the region of €20–25 million. However, the club is not willing to subsidize his wages if he moves elsewhere, preferring instead to keep him in the squad until his contract expires if a satisfactory deal cannot be reached.

Milan, under the guidance of Massimiliano Allegri, have expressed interest in the striker. Allegri, who has previously coached Vlahovic, sees him as a potential key addition to the Rossoneri’s attack. Talks have taken place between Milan and Juventus, but a major stumbling block remains Vlahovic’s high wage demands. Milan would require the striker to accept a significant pay cut, likely spreading his current salary over a longer-term contract.

Despite turning down offers from clubs such as Fenerbahce and Al-Ahli, Vlahovic has so far shown little inclination to leave Turin unless his wage expectations are met. He is reportedly prepared to see out his contract, even if that means being sidelined for the final season. This stance puts Juventus in a difficult position, as they seek to avoid losing a valuable asset for nothing while also managing their wage bill and squad planning.

Juventus have already secured Jonathan David as a new attacking option and are exploring further reinforcements. However, the resolution of the Vlahovic situation remains pivotal. The club is not ruling out any scenario, including a late transfer or keeping the striker for the duration of his contract if no suitable offer materializes.
