Former Juventus midfielder Mohamed Sissoko remains confident that his old club are on the right track despite a challenging spell under new manager Luciano Spalletti. Speaking to Tuttojuve about the 1–1 draw against Fiorentina and the team’s progress, Sissoko offered words of optimism and belief in both the squad and the coach’s project.
“For Juventus it’s a bit of a difficult period,” Sissoko admitted. “There’s been a change of coach and the results haven’t taken off yet. But from what I can see, the players are really trying. I’m convinced we’re on the right path to finding stability and success again.”
“A Good Point in Florence, the Start of Something Positive”
Sissoko rejected the growing scepticism surrounding the team and instead chose to focus on the positives from the Fiorentina match. “I always like to see the glass half full,” he said. “For me, it was a good point, even though Fiorentina weren’t at their best. Florence is always a tough and passionate place to play, especially for Juventus, who are not going through a great time right now. But in my view, this draw could be the beginning of something good. Juventus can start a run of victories.”
“Spalletti Has a Winning Mentality”
Sissoko spoke with strong belief about Luciano Spalletti’s appointment, describing the Italian coach as the right man to return the club to glory. “Spalletti is a great manager — experienced and with a winning mentality. He’ll do an excellent job, and Juventus will go back to winning trophies with him. I’m sure of that,” said the former Mali international.
“He just needs a bit of time; he arrived recently and doesn’t have a magic wand. I remember his Roma side very well — it was a strong team that played great football. I hope to see that kind of beautiful football again with Juventus.”
