Tether Prepares New Bid to Acquire Juventus After Exor Rejection

Start

Tether is reportedly ready to make a fresh and more substantial offer to acquire Juventus, despite Exor having firmly rejected its initial €1.1 billion proposal. The cryptocurrency company shows no sign of backing down, according to reports from Tuttosport, as it seeks a way to convince the Agnelli-controlled group to reconsider its stance.

A Firm Rejection from Exor

Exor’s CEO, John Elkann, made his position unmistakably clear: Juventus is not for sale. The Turin-based club, owned by the Agnelli family for 102 years and spanning four generations, remains an integral part of the family’s legacy. Following the initial bid, Elkann reaffirmed via the club’s official channels that Exor had no plans to relinquish control or disengage from Juventus’ management.

However, Tether appears undeterred. As reported, the company is now preparing an immediate counteroffer, with its new proposal expected to arrive within hours. The goal remains the same — to acquire full ownership of Juventus.

Tether’s Next Move

Paolo Ardoino, Tether’s CEO, is said to be rallying support not only through financial means but also via social media, seeking to engage small shareholders who had already expressed appreciation for the company’s interest during Juventus’ recent shareholders’ assembly. The new offer aims to test Exor’s resolve once again, despite previous indications that Elkann has no intention of entertaining further negotiations.

Exor’s Unwavering Position

Sources close to the holding company suggest that Exor’s stance remains unchanged. The Juve ownership has no plans to reopen the issue, even if Tether — headquartered in El Salvador — were to improve its offer significantly. The message from the top is unequivocal: Juventus is not for sale.

Chiellini’s Reflections

Before Bologna vs Juventus, club legend Giorgio Chiellini shared his view on the matter in an interview with DAZN.

“John Elkann’s words were strong and important,” said Chiellini. “For those who know him, they weren’t surprising. The Juventus and Agnelli family connection is unique — when you think of one, you think of the other. That link has always existed, and it will continue into the future. The important thing now is to keep building Juve, bringing it back to being as successful as it has always been. The club’s values, handed down through generations, have always combined tradition with a forward-looking spirit.”
