Kalulu

“Tiredness? We Can’t Hide Behind That” – Kalulu Reflects After Galatasaray v Juventus

After Juventus’ Champions League defeat to Galatasaray, defender Pierre Kalulu spoke to Sky about the team’s performance, recognising their own mistakes and calling for a swift reaction.

“Goals always come from our own mistakes — it happens, but tonight it was tough in the second half,” Kalulu admitted. “We mustn’t allow so many chances. We’ll go back, analyse what happened properly, and reset quickly.”
The French defender was also asked about the days following the heated Inter-Juventus encounter, which had stirred plenty of discussion both on and off the pitch.

“There was a lot of tension,” Kalulu said. “It’s better not to talk too much because saying too many things doesn’t help. I have to focus on the pitch — there are other people whose job it is to defend us and talk about these things.”

As for Alessandro Bastoni’s reported apology after the controversial incident between the two players, Kalulu remained diplomatic.

“Apologies from Bastoni? I haven’t seen them, maybe I’ll look later,” he commented. “I thought about it that evening and the next day, but then you have to look forward and stop dwelling on it. It’s a pity.”
