Tudor: “A Crazy Match, Adzic Is a Strong Player”

Start

Igor Tudor spoke to DAZN (as quoted by ilbianconero)   after Juventus’ dramatic 4-3 victory over Inter, a thrilling encounter that ended with the Bianconeri celebrating a memorable win. The Croatian coach analysed the performance, highlighting the impact of Adzic and Yildiz.

The Match

“A lot of happiness, it was a crazy, special match with many goals. In the end there’s so much joy for a victory against a great team with players of the highest level. It’s only the third game, there are still 35 to go. I’m happy for the boys, it really was a crazy match.”

Adzic’s Impact

The Croatian coach reserved special praise for Adzic, who made a decisive contribution to the contest.

“He’s a boy we are working with because we believe he is a strong player. We tried to change some habits of his that we didn’t like, and he accepted that. He has enormous qualities, and even before today we already had the idea of throwing him into the mix. He has a powerful shot, pace, stamina and humility. He must take this goal as motivation to keep working.”

On Inter

Despite the joy of winning, Tudor acknowledged the strength of Inter and admitted that the result could have gone either way.

“They have enormous quality, of world-class level. We didn’t play a pressing and passing game as we could have done. But I saw desire, even from those who came off the bench. I don’t know if the win was deserved, a draw would have been fairer, but that’s football.”

Yildiz’s Role

The Juventus boss also reflected on Yildiz’s deployment in the match and the challenges of adapting the team’s shape.

“I used a kind of diamond with Yildiz behind Vlahovic but we didn’t do it well, we didn’t press properly and we dropped too deep too quickly. Playing behind the striker he has to find spaces. He’s a strong player and strong players must stay closer to goal. Now we have to adapt because we have three central forwards, and we need to make the most of the squad. It’s nice to win even without playing a great match.”
