Vasilije Adzic has become one of the rising names of Juventus. The 18-year-old Montenegrin midfielder was the hero of the recent 4-3 victory over Inter, scoring a spectacular long-range strike that lit up the Allianz Stadium. His goal, celebration and impact on the match left many wondering if this was the moment of his true breakthrough.
In an interview with Gianlucadimarzio.com, Adzic’s agent, Igor Gluscevic, revealed key details about the young star’s journey, his choice to stay at Juventus, and how coach Igor Tudor views him.
The goal against Inter
“That goal was the result of months of work,” Gluscevic explained. “It was a reward for all the effort he has put in recently. He is a boy with so much quality, with a huge hunger that kept him fired up even during a difficult period. He had some injuries that didn’t allow him to give his best, but he kept working. As for the celebration, only he will say what it meant, but it was full of joy.”
Tudor’s stance
“First of all, the objective was to get back to training regularly and playing with continuity,” said the agent. “Tudor, during the summer, said that the only player he didn’t want to let leave was Vasilije. For us, this is very important. He’s an excellent coach who believes in him and understands his qualities.”
Transfer background
“There was strong interest from Bologna, they really wanted the boy. But when it came time to decide, his father Jovan asked him what he truly wanted. He replied, ‘I want to play with the best, at Juventus.’ Normally, an 18-year-old cannot get minutes so easily with Juventus, but he wanted to take this step for his career.”
Working on his game
“His shot from distance has been one of his weapons since childhood. It is a natural quality,” Gluscevic added. “But now he’s also working hard to improve the defensive side of his game. He has a lot of attacking qualities, but improving defensively will be important to becoming a complete player.”
