As the Serie A season enters its final stretch, Thiago Motta’s future at Juventus hangs in the balance. The current Bianconeri manager has just 10 matches left to secure his position, starting with Sunday’s away fixture against Fiorentina.
Tuttosport report that should Juventus opt for an interim solution to finish the season, internal candidates are being considered. Francesco Magnanelli, currently in charge of the Primavera (youth) team, is favored over Massimo Brambilla of the Next Gen squad.
However, Tuttosport report that Juventus has already engaged in advanced talks with Roberto Mancini. The former Italy national team coach, who recently concluded his stint with the Saudi Arabian national team, has emerged as the leading candidate to take over the helm at Juventus.
Mancini’s rise to the top of Juventus’ wishlist comes at the expense of Gian Piero Gasperini. While the Atalanta manager was previously considered a strong contender, it appears that Juventus has not made direct contact with him. Instead, Gasperini is reportedly inching closer to a move to Roma as Claudio Ranieri’s successor. Recent discussions between Gasperini’s representatives and Roma’s sporting director Ghisolfi have allegedly included transfer market strategies, with Ghanaian midfielder Abu Francis from Cercle Bruges mentioned as a potential target.
