“If He Returns to the Fiorentina Form, It’s a Coup” – Capello on Vlahovic to Milan

Start

Dusan Vlahovic’s time at Juventus appears to be drawing to a close, but his name remains in the headlines as speculation continues about his future. Most recently, former manager Fabio Capello has weighed in on the potential for Vlahovic to join AC Milan, his thoughts echoing both the uncertainty and opportunity such a move could bring.

While Vlahovic remains on the outskirts of the Juventus project—despite recently playing, scoring in a friendly against Reggiana, and joining the squad for their training camp in Germany—the interest from Milan has captured attention across Italy. The idea of Vlahovic being reunited with his former boss Massimiliano Allegri at Milan is gaining traction.

Fabio Capello, speaking to La Gazzetta dello Sport (as quoted by ilbianconero) , addressed the prospect openly:

“And why would Allegri want Vlahovic at Milan? Not out of whim, he’s not that type of coach. Rather, I can believe Max is convinced he needs a penalty box striker more than a playmaker. Dusan has struggled to connect with his teammates at Juve, but if he receives good service, he certainly knows what to do.”

Capello went on to highlight Vlahovic’s potential beyond his years:

“Let’s not forget, the Serbian is only 25. He hasn’t yet reached the peak of his physical and mental maturity. Thanks to the ups and downs at Juve, Milan could sign him on favourable terms. It would still be a major investment, but if Dusan returns to the form he showed at Fiorentina, it would be a brilliant coup for the Rossoneri. That same striker was once sold at three to four times the price Milan could pay today.”

He added a note of optimism about the possible reunion of Allegri and Vlahovic:

“Deep down, I believe Allegri holds onto the hope, having glimpsed at Continassa the player who too often underperformed in matches. The two could have another go together, starting from the 41 goals in 101 matches they shared at Juventus and driven by a hunger for redemption that could prove invaluable for Milan. After last season’s eighth place, there’s plenty of motivation at Milanello to bounce back. And in that environment, yes, Vlahovic could genuinely feel right at home.”
