Juventus Injury Updates: McKennie, Gatti, and Koopmeiners

Start

Juventus have received encouraging news regarding Weston McKennie after the American midfielder left the pitch with a knock during Sunday’s match against Udinese. La Gazzetta dello Sport report that medical checks have revealed that McKennie suffered only a contusion, allowing him to participate in a recovery session at the club’s training ground, Continassa, alongside other starters. This suggests his issue is minor, and he is expected to be available for the crucial final match of the season.

Injury Situation: Gatti and Koopmeiners

Federico Gatti and Teun Koopmeiners continue to follow individualized recovery programs as they deal with their respective injuries. Gatti, who suffered a fibula fracture during Igor Tudor’s first game as Juventus coach against Genoa, has been sidelined for several weeks. He made a brief appearance late in the match against Lazio, as Tudor hoped to benefit from his defensive experience in a key moment.

Koopmeiners, on the other hand, has been dealing with persistent Achilles tendon inflammation. While his condition is reportedly improving, he is not yet fit to return to full training or match action. Both players will be closely monitored in the coming days to determine whether they can be included—at least as substitutes—for Juventus’ final fixture of the season, a decisive away game against Venezia that could secure their fourth-place finish.

Suspensions and Returns

For the upcoming match with Venezia, Juventus will regain the services of Nicolò Savona and Khephren Thuram, both returning from suspension. However, Pierre Kalulu remains unavailable, as he still has one match left to serve from a two-game suspension received after his red card against Lazio.
